Payton is a graduate research assistant at the CSR. She is currently pursuing a Master of Public Affairs degree at the O'Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs, concentrating in Nonprofit Management and International Development, with an intention to pursue a PhD in Sociology and Quantitative Methods. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Gender Studies from Indiana University in 2020. Payton previously worked for Urban Institute's Center for Nonprofits and Philanthropy. She also works as a teaching assistant and research assistant for the Indiana Nonprofits Project in the O'Neill School.

In her spare time, Payton enjoys reading and watching movies/TV related to crime and mystery. She runs an Instagram review page for all things scary. When she's not working, she enjoys spending time with her cats, Kabuki, Kazoo, and Kimchi.
